Martin Šulc
Martin Šulc (*2001) is a Czech accordionist and performer of solo and chamber music, contemporary Czech and foreign music. He is a member of many artistic ensembles, consisting of the best performers of the upcoming generation in the Czech Republic, including Ludmila Pavlová (violin), Martin Cába (guitar), Daniel Matejča (violin), Josef Matěj Švec (violoncello), and others. He also regularly collaborates with composers of the upcoming generation Daria Kukal Moiseeva and Natália Pleváková, with whom he also participated in the premiere of their opera "Why is she like this?" from the Runoperun studio.
Martinis a graduate of the Prague Conservatory under the direction of Mgr. Ladislav Horák, where he concluded his studies with Petr Fiala's "Concerto for Accordion" accompanied by the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra. During his studies at the Prague Conservatory, he reached the finals of the global competition of the Societa Umanitaria association in Milan among the 23 best students from the world's conservatories and music universities. He became the winner of the television competition show Virtuosos V4+, whose patron is Maestro Placido Domingo. He also defended his place at many national and international accordion competitions, e.g. in Alcobaca (Portugal), Castelfidardo (Italy), Shenzhen (China), the International Accordion Days in Prague, and became a three-time winner of the Masters category at the national accordion competition in Dobřany.
These successes brought Martin concerts at renowned international festivals, such as the International Festival in Český Krumlov, the Czech Philharmonic Society for Chamber Music (Suk Hall Rudofina), Culture in the Heart of Prague, Prague Music Festival, Young Prague, Dvořák's Prague... He also had the opportunity to play with the best performers in the Czech Republic, such as Václav Hudeček, Petr Nouzovský and others. Since October 2024, he has been studying at the Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen, Germany, under the guidance of Prof. Hans Maier.
